With the grace of Shree Babosa, I got opportunity to attend the babosa janmotsav program @ 2009. It was organized at Howrah, Kolkata near Jain Hospital.
The timings were from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm . I reached there at 9:30 am. When i reached there, only close to 200 members were present. Actually an unfortunate accident had taken place due to which key roads were blocked at that time. But I was glad, i got more time to spend there. There was a big pandal erected with a beautiful idol of Shree Babosa at the centre of podium. Other pictures included that of shree Hanumanji, Kali Mataji and Ganeshji. Snacks/tea and utilities stalls were nearby. BCF guys were laboriously working to make the event grand success.
Shortly after, around at 10 am, Baid ji took the mike with his usual speeches and praises. Manju baisa's car was stuck in a road jam (common occurrence at kolkata :p). Her veneration be saluted, as she offered to walk on foot in order to reach kirtan on time. But organizers requested to wait for some more time. Shortly, due to grace of Shree Babosa, jam got cleared and she reached at kirtan.
All of us in pandal stood up to shower flowers at her lotus feet. Her beautiful smile was enough to bring serenity in mind.Shortly after she took her place below babosa's statue. After that a round of appreciation and memento distribution started on stage. Some 20 people were honoured for god knows what, it was irritating actually. Who wants to hear life doings of 20 unknown people. It consumed nearly 30 minutes, and was purely irrelevant to the event.
Then, singer raju mehra took the center stage. He immediately started to shower down sweet, angelic and euphonious devotional babosa bhajans. He did and excellent job. Whole gathering got overwhelmed and lost in babosa's songs. What next? Well nothing to guess. The moment for which we all were waiting for. Lord shree Balaji Babosa appeared to planet earth to bless us all. It was a beautiful sight. He stayed there for about 30 minutes, longest that I have heard of. Most of time he was smiling, as if enjoying companion of his devotees. There was slight disruption, when people on stage started gathering around with garlands, blocking the view for devotees.
After the program, there was lunch and people flocked around various stalls. In all, program was a grand success, although i had anticipated more than 10K people, but close to 5K were present. Looking forward eagerly for next kirtan!
well i also like janmotsav programme at Howrah..i live in howrah...well nothing to say about Babosa Maharaj...just want to say JAI SHREE BABOSA MAHARAJ....
